The biggest car show in the world, with over 11,000 vintage automobiles and trucks from all over the USA, and the world. However, don't expect to find any vehicles that have been restored to their original condition. Instead, this show is mainly for "street rodders", those individuals who have customized and hot-rodded 1948 and earlier vehicles. Perhaps the most popular model of car for street rodders are the 1932-1934 Fords, whether it be coupes or sedans but, you will find all kinds of makes n models at this show, plus all kinds of parts (old and new) for sale and/or trade. In addition, a good number of vehicles will be for sale, ranging from "parts" cars all the way up to the newly built exotic cars priced at $50,000 and more. There will also be a number of manufacturers there, showing off parts, and even those who will build you a car anyway you want it. For those participating in this event (actually having vehicles entered for showing), the National Street Rod Association has a spectacular list of door prizes. Every year they give away a newly built hot rod (see above and click). They also give away engines, wheels, and all kinds of things that a hot rodder can use. 2002 Winner. At other NSRA events they give a new Chevy HHR. Outside the fairgrounds, and in fact, all over within a 50 mile radius of Louisville, the place is crawling with hot rods. Be sure to check out the area near the Fairgrounds, and especially Preston Highway. Hope to see you there.
